Automatic Profile Control (APC™)

Indev's Automatic Profile Control (APC™) offers closed loop control of web thickness through extrusion die bolt control. The APC™ control cabinet is an accessory to the GaugeVIEW™ system.

Designed to control the flexible lip on an extrusion die, the APC™ continually monitors thickness readings and makes adjustments automatically. Control action allows the die bolts to expand and contract effecting the thickness measurement.

Designed to provide a seamless capacity to control the thickness measurement, Indev has packaged Automated Process Control with the GaugeVIEW™ control system. GaugeVIEW™ provides the user the ability to control the APC in three modes: Fifty Percent, Control and Hold. During fifty percent control, the heaters for all die zones are powered at 50%.

A sequential heating cycle is established starting with zone one and going to the last zone. During Hold mode, the operator can suspend the control mode. The APC™ applies power to the die heaters to maintain the temperature of each die zone. Along with Sensor break alarm, GaugeVIEW™ allows APC configuration for maintenance of die temperature or shut down on sensor break.
